My ceremonial performances are a space of learning / what it means to be present to something.
Can I be transparent and explicit about this with my audience? Invite them into this space of learning, of finding out together - of responsiveness, sensitive attunement, live-ness.
If I foreground responsiveness - give the work a loose structure but more important is to attune to it, to what is moving / happening and allow it to express itself. I am a part of something bigger - we are all a part of the happening.
Expectations of audience to receive something already made, to be held -
And yet the learning space is held by me, the inquiry and 'finding out' -
counter to marketing (pre-packaged products/ concepts).
Invitations could expand, I invite a friend and ask them to invite a friend, and so on - expanding circles of invitation.
Greek goddess, Hydra? coat of 1000 eyes.
Timings / seasons / ripeness / readiness. Specific times for specific rituals, attuned to whole. The moon.
Fourth Land - artist duo - how they make space, make a circle or structure wherein things happen - an invitation - also make films.
Shapeshifting film - to be included at Karst?
Can i do something before everyone else installs? Have the space to myself to do a ritual, at night perhaps - and leave traces - leave a narrative - make an atmosphere. Some magic was made here / this happened here. Light touch.

Sense of......
Sense of vibration - extends sense of place and time.
Gathering in of breasts, of friends/ women in my life who are significant - they offer me their breasts (echo of washing feet) (tender process of touch esp. in time of Covid)
Stepping into skin. Empty skin of breasts. Process of making is one thing, wearing the breast coat is another.
Augmenting body again.
Tenderness. Vulnerability. Softness. Nurturance. Unknowingness.
What does this feel like?
Confidence and sensibility.... could be non-eventful!!
Have the space of Karst. relate to its architecture / structure... Stone circles / moon/ ineffible.
The emptied skin. Skin like quality - looks like nothing, but it feels strong.
Moment needs to happen for the viewer.
My voice could narrate ritual, could speak of the intimacy of ceremony, that happened in private - but traces visible. Intimate time spent - the movement of light across the floor.
Installation of the breast coat - how it hangs.
tenderness in making the casts - about my lived relationships with friends and family - women in my life.
Be sensitive to how the work is made, quality of material and attention and responsiveness/ attunement - the work will guide me as to what needs to happen at Karst.
