[this is a great circling and gathering cloud of material that intersects and flows through itself ... with overlaps and connections and nodes ...
and could form the ground or backdrop for your practice over the coming years ...
for the purposes of a short essay for MAC702 – I would suggest that you take one line that travels through this cloud, touching on one set of links or nodes;
in some ways this will feel like a reduction, or a compromise as it cannot show all the variations the constant shifting and intertwining, but that is the limit of a short essay – it can give a glimpse of a dimension of all this;
perhaps identify a starting point – X
you and Ludo, you and mud, Ludo and mud, or an area of the riverbank, ...
and circle out from that concrete starting place – X
– description, connection, association, ...
(literal sense description / connections to thinkers and artists / association with stories or experience or other organisms / ... )
and allow the suggestion that of course there is much more that you cannot show in this version of your engagement with the stuff,
and indicate how it might extend elsewhere,
but come back to the starting place – X
and restate that starting place ...
this would be more than enough to deal with in a short essay
the rest will be your work over coming months and years ...
