Some sketches in clay - how it feels to press and stretch clay on my skin to cover specific areas, mainly hands and feet, fingers and toes. It felt calming, like it created a sense of safety, of simply being here, in my body. I am experimenting and have ideas of using these as moulds - to somehow develop the impressions made, not accurate, but a sense of clay meeting flesh. I will take to the sculpture workshop
- maybe plaster or latex / resin poured inside?
What was interesting was puling my hand or foot out of the clay - the clay captures the twist and pull to extract myself. To root - to use the clay to encase my body - they to pull away and out - to 'uproot'.
